Not a Disguise - Tear Stains - Angels’ Eyes Natural

Posted on: October 31, 2012 by Global Pet Foods HRM

Nobody likes having unsightly dark circles under their eyes nor do we like to see these on our pets either.  Truth is, some cats and dogs do suffer from having tear stains and these dark rusty discolourations below the eyes or near the muzzle not only look bad, they usually are also accompanied by a rather unpleasant odour.  There are a variety of factors that can cause the eyes to water excessively resulting in tear stains.  These include genetics, bacteria and irritants in the environment. When fur is wet from excessive tearing, it creates a breeding ground for bacteria and yeast compounding the problem.

If your pet suffers from tear stains, the first step is to check the ingredients in the food they eat.  Foods with artificial colours and preservatives, with mostly corn, soy, or wheat may be cause a mild allergic reaction resulting in excessive tear production.  Some believe that beet pulp in a pets’ food can lead to tear stains due to high sugar levels.  There is little scientific evidence that supports a correlation between beet pulp and tear stains, however, there is a lot of anecdotal evidence of tear stains improving after changing to a food free from beet pulp.  It is unclear if these results are due to the removal of beet pulp specifically or simply due to an improvement in overall food quality.  High levels of minerals and heavy metals in an animals’ water may also be linked to tear stains, so it is recommended to give them distilled water and use stainless steel dishes.  Tear stains may also be caused by an ingrown hair or other obstruction in or around the eye.  Check your pets’ eyes regularly for dust, stray hairs or any foreign matter.

If your pet suffers from tear stains there are many products on the market for dealing with them, including special wipes to clean the eyes and muzzle.  There are also supplements to add to your pets’ diet that actually help eliminate the tear stains altogether.  One such supplement producing amazing results is Angels’ Eyes Natural.  It is an all-natural powder supplement with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.  The three active ingredients include cranberry powder (a powerful antioxidant which fights bacteria growth), Oregon grape root (a blood purifier with strong anti-microbial properties) and marshmallow root (soothes and lubricates mucus membranes and helps ease sinus problems).  These simple ingredients combine to reduce and prevent tear stains by reducing oxidation release through the tear ducts.  Results are often seen in as little as 2-3 weeks of use.  Angels’ Eyes Natural should not be confused with a product available in the United States called Angels’ Eyes, which contains the antibiotic veterinary drug Tylosin generally used to treat disease in food producing animals.  Angels’ Eyes Natural is an all-natural, antibiotic free version sold internationally.

If your little prince or princess looks like they missed out on a lot of beauty sleep, bring back their natural good looks (and get rid of that funky smell) by treating their tearstains with Angels’ Eyes Naturals.  They’ll be bright eyed and bushy tailed in no time!
