Aloe Vera, Simply Not Just For Burns - Melissa’s Aloe Pet

Posted on: September 10, 2012 by Global Pet Foods HRM

Trying to keep up with the latest and greatest in the world of natural health and nutrition can be overwhelming and frustrating to most people.  It seems every day we hear about another “super food” that we must incorporate into our diet to stay healthy.  At the end of the day, how do you fit it all in?  Foods to fight cancer, foods to fight neural disorders, foods to detoxify, it goes on and on…  How do you know what to focus on?  One good answer is to focus on your immune system and hope that it can take care of all the other concerns!

With that in mind, please add one more “must have” onto your list of super healthy foods for you and your pet - Aloe Vera!  Lots of people have aloe plants in their homes which come in very handy for all kinds of minor burns and cuts, but do you know just how amazing the aloe vera plant truly is?  The aloe vera plant has over 39 essential nutrients and all 23 amino acids.  But the real secret is oxygen – aloe vera juice contains more oxygen molecules than any other plant.  Oxygen is the most essential element for life. It is believed that lack of oxygen in the tissues is the basis for all degenerative diseases and cancers.  The healing and nutritional properties of aloe are almost endless. For all intents and purposes you could say it helps with everything - digestion, detoxification, immune support, nervous system, metabolism, cellular oxygenation, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory etc., etc.

Although aloe plants have been used for their healing properties for thousands of years, many scientists would debate just how effective it truly is, since the mechanisms behind many of the “cure-all” claims are unproven.  So we decided to try it ourselves!  Many of the employees at Global Pet Foods have added aloe vera to their daily diet in the form of Melissa’s Aloe Cactus Juice and we love it!  We have first hand experience in benefits ranging from improved digestion, skin, energy levels and boosted immunity.  Of course we also have many customers who have noticed big improvements in their pets after using Melissa’s Aloe-Pet!  All pets can benefit from this aloe and cactus juice supplement, which helps with hot spots, itching, arthritis, ear infections, etc.   Basically, it provides long lasting improvement to the immune system, which allows the animal’s system to eliminate health issues, whatever they may be.  To top it all off Melissa’s Aloe-Pet will also protect against fleas and ticks, completely naturally!  It contains an enzyme called protease, which acts to remove protein from the blood and place it in the proper cells (where is can be used effectively).  In order for fleas and ticks to survive they must find protein in the host animal’s blood, therefore, they are not attracted to healthy animals whose proteins are in the cells where they should be!

We love the Melissa’s aloe products and we love that they are a Canadian family business too!  Check out their products at http://www.melissasaloepet.com/ or at any one of the Global Pet Foods HRM locations.  CHEERS! Here’s a toast to you and your pets and here's to your health and happiness!
